Monthly Pro Bono Legal Clinic

In-person clinics are cancelled for the time-being due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. We are working on ways that we may be able to deliver pro bono legal services virtually, and will update this page when we have more information to share.

SCCLA offers a monthly free legal clinic in San Gabriel, California.

Assistance is offered in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.

This event is co-sponsored by Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Asian Youth Center, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles.

Litigants will be able to meet with licensed attorneys and obtain legal information on a variety of legal problems in English or Chinese, including Mandarin and Cantonese.

We very much need volunteering attorneys and Chinese-language interpreters (law students and/or community members).

Litigants generally have questions in the areas of family, immigration, business, employment, criminal, and real estate law. We also see needs in estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, and consumer law areas. There are also few litigants who have questions regarding Intellectual Property rights or international law (dealing specifically with China or Hong Kong).

When:

Every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

We encourage volunteers to arrive early at 6 pm for a mini-orientation and complimentary light dinner.

Where:

Asian Youth Center
232 W. Clary Avenue
San Gabriel, CA 91776
