Annual Holiday Food Basket Drive

SCCLA’s 37th Annual Food Basket Drive (2023)

We were excited to return to our second in-person food basket distribution since the pandemic to distribute more than 300 food baskets to families of various ethnic backgrounds that have been pre-selected by CSC based on need. The event took place outdoors at the Cathay Bank parking lot in Chinatown on December 16, 2023. 

A huge thank you to the over 70 volunteers who joined SCCLA and the Chinatown Service Center (CSC)! Volunteers—including SCCLA Past Presidents and Board Members, LA Superior Court Judges, practicing attorneys, law students, and young children—sorted over 25 Chinese grocery items and distributed them to over 300 families served by CSC. We are proud to continue our partnership with CSC and are grateful to the dedicated, hardworking volunteers who shared their time with these families.

SCCLA’s 35th Annual Food Basket Drive (2021)

SCCLA’s 35^th Annual Holiday Food Basket distribution took place throughout the week of December 20^th, 2021, at Chinatown Service Center (“CSC”), 767 N. Broadway Ste. 400, Los Angeles, CA 90012.  With your generous donation, SCCLA was able to distribute 320 “food baskets” to families of various ethnic backgrounds that have been pre-selected by CSC for need. 

To reduce people’s exposure to COVID-19 virus, CSC continued to distribute the food baskets, along with children’s toys, via individual appointment. 

SCCLA would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the donors listed below for continuing to bring holiday joy to families in Los Angeles county.  With your generous donation, SCCLA was able to fill the “food basket” with items such as a $40 Gift card from HK Good Fortune Supermarket, two kinds of “Feast from the East” sesame dressings, and two Cutie Panda Gift Tins from Kee Wah Bakery, all valued at over $90.
